INGREDIENTS:
- CHAALA MEEN(SARDINES) - 10 NOS
- OIL - AS REQUIRED
- TAMARIND - A LEMON SIZE
- SMALL ONION/SHALLOTS - 8 TO 10 NOS
- GARLIC CLOVES - 5 TO 10 NOS
- CURRY LEAVES - A HANDFUL
FOR ROASTING AND GRINDING:
- SMALL ONION/SHALLOTS - 3 TO 5 NOS
- GARLIC CLOVES - 5 TO 10 NOS
- CURRY LEAVES - A HANDFUL
- COCONUT - 2 CUPS
- DRY RED CHILLY - 4 TO 5 NOS
- CORIANDER SEEDS - 2 TSP
- PEPPER - 1 TSP
PREPARATION:
- CLEAN THE FISH PIECES BY REMOVING HEAD AND TAIL AND COAT IT WITH TURMERIC POWDER.
- DRY ROAST THE INGREDIENTS GIVEN FOR ROASTING AND GRIND IT SMOOTH BY ADDING WATER.
- TAKE A PAN, ADD OIL TO IT. ADD THE GRINDED MASALA.
- ADD TAMARIND WATER TO IT AND LET IT BOIL.
- ADD SHALLOTS, GARLIC CLOVES AND CURRY LEAVES.
- THEN ADD THE FISH PIECES TO IT AND LET IT COOK FOR 15 - 20 MINS UNTIL OIL SEPARATES.
